Ramon is 48 years old and has been on dialysis for the past two years after being diagnosed with ESRD (End-Stage Renal Disease) following an acute kidney injury on December 31, 2023.

Before his diagnosis, Ramon lived an active life and worked for 17 years at CVS. He loves working on vintage cars, trying different foods, and spending time with his family. As the eldest of five siblings, Ramon shares a very special bond with his beautiful mother, Maria, who is 80 years strong and still by his side every step of the way.

Since starting dialysis three times a week, life has changed tremendously for Ramon. He has lost much of his appetite and taste buds, experiences hypersensitivity and ringing in his ears, and misses the simple joy of being able to enjoy food and everyday life. What many take for granted are now the things he misses the most.

Despite all the challenges, Ramon continues to fight with strength, courage, and hope. Doctors shared that finding a kidney may be more difficult because of his blood type O, which could mean years of waiting for a transplant.

One of Ramon’s biggest worries is his mom. Even at 80 years old, Maria continues to take him to dialysis, care for him, and support him however she can. Ramon hopes one day to receive a kidney transplant so he can return to work, live a more normal life, and take care of his mom the way she has always cared for him.

Please keep Ramon and his family in your thoughts and prayers. đź’›
